Nature Observations

Date: 4/8/18
Day of the Week: Sunday
Location: Ironton Rail Trail
Time: 13:35
Observers: No one is with me I am by myself. Occasionally a runner or person on a bicycle will pass me by.
Habitat: The Ironton Rail trail is a mostly paved walking path that runs through Whitehall Township, North Whitehall, as well as Coplay. The trail itself passthrough a variety of different Environments. Anything from Someone’s back yard to Wilderness. You will find plenty of birds and other small creatures as you walk along this path, maybe more if you take the leap and go into the wilderness portion. Also spread throughout are the ruins of some older buildings dating back to the 1800’s as well as train cars and train tracks left over from when the area was used as a Railroad.
Weather: it feels like a cool 40 or 50 degrees. It’s pretty windy as well. The wind itself seems to be blowing from the north but I can’t tell for sure. Maybe 5 miles per hour?
Remarks: It’s beautiful out right now I can hear the occasional bird or runner coming from somewhere near me. It’s been years since I have walked this path. I used to do it all the time with one of my close friends, but I don’t see him anymore.
Comments: I learned that despite my physical job I might be a little out of shape. Also, that I have a lot of good memories here, and it probably wouldn’t hurt to come back here every now and then and just walk around.
Personal Account: I’m writing this on the same day 4/8/18. I started walking and I realize how wonderful it is outside. The wind is staying at a nice breeze right now, but every so often it will pick up to a massive howl. As I pass by the homes on the first stretch I can see people inside their houses doing things as well as some people out back playing or doing work in the yard. As I come to the second stretch I find the gazebos they put in a couple years back and there seems to be a couple people in one of them just hanging out. The entire time I’m walking the path I keep getting passed up by runners, and bikers. When I get to the last stretch I see the old Trainyard? At least I think that’s what it is. I never really took the time to find out. I always wanted to climb the fence and go exploring in there, but I never did. This was honestly a nice experience. I think I might do this more often If I can find the time. Maybe I’ll take my second trip back into the woods next time.

Date: 4/8/18
Day of the Week: Sunday
Location: My backyard
Time: 17:42
Observers: It’s me and my dog Shadow hanging out.
Habitat: My backyard is middling as far as size goes. We have the tool shed out back next to which is the small patch of land that my parents use to grow vegetables when the time comes. There is a large oak tree down to the right and four smaller trees off to the left. Up where I am is a concrete patio where we have a glass table setup with four chairs. Every now and then the usual small animals will pass by.
Weather: I’m going to say its probably 30-40 degrees out right now. It’s enough to make me consider putting a hoodie on. There is barely any wind. I think it might just be getting blocked by the house.
Remarks: The sky looks amazing. Every now and the shadow will run arund going crazy and barking at the birds or squirrels that run by.
Comments: I haven’t really learned anything other than I love spending time with my dog. Ill throw him the Frisbee every now and then to prevent myself from falling asleep in my chair
Personal Account: After Dinner about 17:42, I decided to take shadow out in the backyard to play with him and let him run around. Once I’ve gotten comfortable in my chair though I start to fall asleep. I’m woken up ever now and then by Shadow barking at the occasional animal or him coming over to shove the disc that I have been throwing him into my lap. With my hoodie on it’s the perfect temperature for me as I look around I can see the animals avoiding Shadow by running through other neighbor’s yards. I also hear the occasional car pass by out front. After about half an hour I decide it’s time to go in. And like he always does, Shadow never wants to come back in. I manage to coax him back inside after about 20 minutes though.

Welcome to my college English blog! My inaugural blog post today will center around one of my fellow classmates, Mrs. Arlene Reslin. Arlene is going back to school majoring in Radiology while also being  the spectacular mother of 5 children and, also working full time as the customer service representitive at a cigar shop. While Arlene is indeed working on her radiology degree she also expressed to me the desrie to change her major to that of a nurse but, the only thing stopping her from pursuing that is the fact that shes does not believe in immunization. She also told me of her desire to be an accountant as she believes herself to be very good with math.       Arlene was born in New Jersey but , when she was young her family moved to Allentown where she spent all of her youth. Growing up Arlene attended William Allen High School of which she tells me she has many fond memories. Arlene considers having her first child at 17 and, also not going to college right o...
